Why Independence Elementary?
Welcome to Independence. We strive to create an environment with high expectations, support, and fun. Through a family and community oriented approach, our students will develop leadership skills, problem solving capabilities, and become creative thinkers. We help develop students who take risks and understand that mistakes are learning opportunities for growth.
Built in 2008, Independence was the thirty-ninth school to join LISD and is part of the Hebron High School feeder pattern. Independence serves students in grades from preschool through fifth grade. Our campus is proud to offer students the option of enrolling in the dual language program which has been growing and evolving since the campus first opened. The program cognitively challenges students to learn two languages using research-based practices.
Campus Vision:
All students are confident, equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive and adapt for their future.
